Product Description 1200 Watts Integrated carry handle nozzle 6 minute heat-up for 20 minutes of steam time Power switch automatically shuts off when handle is replaced Door hook to hold nozzle and garments Water resevoir with maximum/mini
Amazon.com Review This fabric steamer offers almost as much power as a commercial model but in a more compact shape for easier home use and storage. Equipped with an efficient 1,200-watt heater, this helpful appliance emits 20 minutes of continuous steam through high-velocity jets. The steamer safely removes wrinkles and freshens up curtains, delicate clothing, and bed linens while saving the expense and hassle of a trip to the dry cleaner. The T-shaped nozzle disperses steam in a wide path for faster de-wrinkling while the 5-foot hose and nozzle end stay comfortably cool during steaming. The fabric steamer's lightweight body weighs only 5 pounds so is easy to carry to the sink or tub to fill with water. Water level markings on the steamer's translucent blue sides show the maximum water level and when the tank needs refilling. For safety, this fabric steamer automatically shuts off when the handle is returned onto the body. For additional convenience, the fabric steamer has a 6-foot cord that wraps around the base for storage and comes with a door hook for hanging the nozzle and any garment. Conair offers a limited one-year warranty on this compact fabric steamer. --Cristina Vaamonde

Does What It says August 22, 2010 B. Armstrong I use this and I like it. It works as advertised. It is an easier version of ironing. happy with purchase.
Steaming Pile of Non-working Machinery August 15, 2010 TK I am currently a 21 year old male, I bought this 2 years ago so I was 19 at the time. I have always hated ironing, hate isn't a strong enough word but it will have to do, so not surprisingly I have been a lifelong wearer of wrinkled clothes. For important occasions I took my clothes to my mother and she hates ironing too so she handed them to my father who took care of it. So I bought this thing after finding out such devices exist that can offer an alternative to the despicable chore that is ironing. I found out about such streamers from an infomercial about a similar but more expensive product.
Put simply: IT DOESN'T WORK. You have to hang your clothe using the hook that comes with this product from the edge of a door and using a hanger. You fill this thing with water, wait till it starts steaming, hold the shirt or pant straight and tight and move the hose nozzle over it. But you will see no results, it simply doesn't work. If anything it just leaves the clothes wet (and wrinkled of course). After it didn't work the first few times I tried it I just gave it to my mother who gave it back to me after similar failed attempts, now it sits in the back of a closet somewhere in the house.
It may be cheap but that just means you are throwing away less money - still wasteful.
Hate it. Just hate it August 2, 2010 Jennifer L. Zakaras (Mesa, AZ) Ugh. This thing is the pits. I generally like Conair products, but not this steamer.
I don't even fill the water to the MAX line, and the steamer spurts water all over my clothing, AND it drips on the floor; and I wait for it to fully heat up. I could deal with that if it did a decent job steaming, but it is marginal at best - and I've tried it on barely wrinkled cotton clothing, not heavier fabrics/drapery/bedspreads. The steam doesn't feel all that hot - I've accidentally ran my hand in the path of the steam and it isn't uncomfortable at all. My mom has a steamer that she bought at Costco for about $40, that blows this thing out of the water - instant wrinkle release, no drips or sputtering, excellent results. Guess I'm headed to Costco soon to see if they still have one.
Not worth the money! July 27, 2010 J. S. BROWN (Concord NC) This did not do what it said it would do..I couldn't get the wrinkles out..I returned the item, Amazon refunded my money as they are so gracious to do. Amazon is a great company to do business with..they stand behind everything they sell.
But this product simply did not measure up to claims.
Works quite well actually June 14, 2010 Val (RI) For $25, one wouldn't normally expect anything spectacular in regards to a steamer, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Conair compact steamer. All I wanted was a small steamer that actually worked. This product delivers. Setup is very easy and while the following don't really bother me personally, some may find a bit annoying, so I will describe these 'gripes': The bucket that holds the water is not very big, meaning you will get about 20-25 min of steam time, tops. It takes 5 minutes for the steam to actually come out. I don't see it as a big problem unless for some reason you are in a huge rush. There is no proper place to hang the hose nor the item you are steaming. You need to get a bit crafty here.
I use an over the door hook to hang the garment that I am steaming. Then I hang the special hose hook to anything that can support it, like say a towel bar or even another door. It works just fine, as long as you are in an area that you can easily use to hang stuff. These are the only issues that I found, and like I said, they don't bother me because the steamer itself actually works.
I have steamed clothing that included dress shirts, baby clothes, skirts and other lightweight items. Sheer curtains were a breeze. My thicker living room drapes took a few seconds more, but the annoying lines and wrinkles came out. I don't really know how well the steamer works on very thick items, like a sweatshirt or jeans, but I personally would never steam something like that anyway.
Every now and then a few drops of water leaked out, but I think it was the way I was holding the hose. Not a big deal. Bottom line is, you want a small everyday steamer for a low price that actually works-this is it.
