Excellent product August 21, 2010 Mama D (Martinez, GA United States) I wear dress shirts and wool pants or skirts on a daily basis and like to have that crisp "fresh from the cleaner's" look. The SF-680 will quickly pay for itself as I can press 6 shirts in under 20 minutes & they come out looking perfect. The owner's manual has a section of hints for pressing all types of items - make sure you read it before starting, once you get the technique down, using the press is really fun. The best part is the instant gratification -- pressing the entire front of a shirt at once, taking wool gabardine slacks from wrinkly to smooth in 8 seconds. Awesome.
Great Choice August 4, 2010 grammie This is a replacement for a 34 inch Kaloric that I ordered a month ago. The Kaloric's opening was so small (only about 6 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back when fully opened) that I burned my hands several times and I am very experienced at using a presser.
I have used a steamer for several years until it died recently. I highly recommend them and use mine everyday. This model is great. The pressing area is a little larger than my old model at 25x10 and is really the perfect size for ironing shirts and pants. Although the 34 inch was good for the inseam, it was really too large for almost everything else. Once you have a system down, you can press everything very quickly. I pressed a fitted queen size sheet in about four minutes and the top sheet just as quickly. The trick is to fold it carefully and press them in sections. Another nice thing is that this model presses several layers at one time so you can put a knit tee shirt on the unit and get the back and frontin one press.
I have only had it about a week - so I don't know how long it will last - but it seems to be of good quality. My old presser last almost 3 years - I hope this one does as well.
The shipping was very quick - it arrived in about 3 days and Amazon was great about taking back the 34 inch Kaloric without hesitation. I am very pleased.
Professional pressings May 31, 2010 Timothy J. Kelly A very nice product. I am having trouble with the locking mechanism which keeps it closed for storage. Otherwise I am very pleased.
savin' time and money! April 20, 2010 R. Chanady (Newnan, GA) LOVE IT!
once I figured out how to exactly place garments on board and an effective sequence for ironing, then exactly what the included pad was for i can now iron as if I were getting paid by the piece. This is a wonderful tool for the home for someone who has a lot of ironing to do but doesn't have a lot of time. Simple as heat press and go. I have saved enough money pressing my own clothes over past couple of months to almost pay for the press.
Professional look without the inconvenience of business hours or Closed Sundays..Get my laundry done on my time.
Convenience, savings, professional press....can't beat it.
Pretty cool product. We us it every week 4 kids and lots of laundry. Biggest surface you can get the better. March 27, 2010 John G 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is a technique to using it. For example knit shirts get bunched up in in hudge away from you then pull out bit by bit to press. The steam is for just one second. Also if really want positive results add starch to the rinse cycle of your wash(in the softner despenser)Setup a good spot to work. Good instructions included, but your developed technique and common sense will be what make the product most useful.
