It does straighten your clothes. August 15, 2010 Harut Arzumanyan (Los Angeles, CA) This does straighten and freshen your clothes. But it does use a lot of water. Also it can be a little frustrating because there is no way of securing the shirt you hang. So it constantly moves and it becomes harder to steam.
Steamer to the rescue August 6, 2010 Corbett C. Browne (Western USA) Steamer will keep your clothes looking like new. And you don't have to take them to the cleaners to be pressed.
Once it automatically shuts off, you are out of luck! June 10, 2010 B. Barr 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used this steamer about 3-4 times a week for about a year and thought it was great - until the day the auto-shut off kicked in. Once it turned off, it never turned on again! There is no information on the website and the company will not return my emails or calls.
Doesn't Last May 15, 2010 Amie 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used another brand steamer in the past, but the model that I had lacked an auto shut-off, and I worried about accidentally leaving it on. So I bought this one primarily for the auto-shutoff feature and the price. If I had to do it again, I would have stuck with my old brand.
This steamer has a tendency to spit water on your clothes as you steam. Sometimes a lot of water. The other brand I used wasn't perfect in this respect, but it happened less than a tenth of the time and spit less than a tenth of the water.
The clothing rod on this is also fairly flimsy. Heavy clothing makes the whole thing feel rather unstable.
The worst aspect of this steamer though is the auto-shut off. I've only had it a few months, and I can't steam more than a single garment without the auto-shutoff kicking in. In fact, most of the time, I can't even get through a single shirt or pair of slacks. It's very frustrating, and in the end it makes steaming with this steamer actually take more time than ironing would.
While the negatives far outweigh the positives, I will say that this steamer does get the wrinkles out -- when it works. It's water reservoir is easy to fill as advertised. It has a fabric brush attachment, which while a bit flimsy, gets the job done for the most part. It also generates steam fairly quickly.
Nonetheless, after finishing this review, I'm going to buy another steamer. This time I'm going with the well-known, reputable brand that I formerly used and which now has a model with an auto shut-off. I really wish I had stuck with my original brand in the first place. My old steamer was still going strong after 7 years, while this one barely lasted 7 months. Apparently, you really do get what you pay for when it comes to steamers.
A real hit! February 15, 2010 Mary Kathryn Brown (Middletown, DE) My son asked for a steamer for Christmas (go figure)..anyway, I did quite a bit of "window shopping" and decided on this one. He LOVES it.. I watched what had been a wadded up jacket become recognizable again.. in just a couple of minutes. He was thrilled... which, of course, meant I was, too! Will probably get one for myself now!! :)
