Good Waffle Maker! September 7, 2010 M. C. Hall Had this thing a few weeks now. I've probably eaten too many waffles since then.
This thing works great. I've used a few different recipes experimenting with different stuff. With every batch this maker has performed just as it should have. User error in all cases with an over or under cooked waffles. Timer requires no extra batteries and does just what I think it should do.
I love that it stands on end and the bottom has guides to wrap up the cord on to.
Great Waffler September 5, 2010 MrsM I purchased the Cuisinart Pro Waffle maker for my husband's fraternal organization's pancake breakfasts. Only to find out from another lodge that that one burned out in less than a year's time. Wanting a waffle maker for my home, I saw Alton Brown's waffle show recently, and I believe this Villaware UNO was the one recommended. Good enough for me! I love it. It makes a perfect one serving size waffle. Took me a few tries to figure out that 3/4 cup batter is the perfect amount; it would have been very nice of the manufacturer to publish this in their little manual. Even is some of the batter runs over, it is so much easier to clean than the Cuisinart. And the best part, it can be stored vertically, taking up a fraction of the room that the clunky Cuisinart does. Highly recommended.
One thing - can anyone tell me how on earth to wind the cord around the bottom??????
Good Waffle Iron September 5, 2010 ToppiSF So it's a great waffle iron, if you like Belgian waffles. I don't like them, but the rest of my family does, so hey, I'm happy. I had sent the seller a couple of emails about shipment but received no responses. In the end, the shipment and product was fine, but it would have been nice to receive a response to my inquiries.
As seen on TV September 5, 2010 Pete D. Mathis (Sacramento, CA USA) Saw this used by Alton Brown on Food Channel. Worked very well except I had to up the cooking time to get the kind of waffle I like. Easy to use. Very consistent results. You might want to get the flip version if you are not good at making batter.
Terrific Waffle Iron September 5, 2010 Pop Culture Maven (California) This is by far the best waffle iron that we have ever used. It produces waffles that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The heat control is clear and easy to use and in addition to lighting up when the waffle is done, it emits a beep so the chances of accidentally burning a waffle are almost non-existant. It's moderately priced, but I think well worth the investment.
